Summary:
As Project Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing projects and managing workflow resources and schedules for a variety of projects or project teams, including client contact, scheduling, and budgeting. You will work with the design team and coordinate modifications and /or review planning concepts and solutions, as well as participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
We are looking for a highly experienced individual who plays well with others to direct drafting assignments according to Lenity office standards; schedule and supervise staff assigned to the project and direct team assignments to meet project deadlines; identify and implement the state, county and local codes, ordinances and regulations that are applicable to projects; and to make sure all drawings meet said codes.
Education + Experience:
- EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from an accredited program or university in architecture is preferred but not required;
- EXPERIENCE – 10+ years related experience and/or training
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications:
- There are no certifications, licenses or registrations required for this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises employees for successful production for timely project development.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated architectural proficiency using:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp (a plus, not required)
- Demonstrated proficiency using various business software applications including database, spreadsheet, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software:
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS Teams
- MS Outlook
General Objectives + Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination of project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
- Implements strategic plans for project success.
- Working in a spirit of cooperation and respect, serves as a firm representative to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion to the client’s satisfaction.
- Actively manages budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments.
- May assist in the preparation of proposals and contracts as it pertains to staff resources, timelines, and budgeted hours.
- Coordinates project deadlines
- Verifies coordination of consultants
- Tracks master field changes as required by Lenity Construction Administration standards
- Reviews all drawings for completeness prior to issuing plan sets
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
- Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Respectfully takes direction from manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
